What is the Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2035?The Sacramento Area Council of Governments and its partners are developing the Metropolitan Transportation Plan for 2035 (MTP2035). The goal: define how $30 billion in transportation investments will support our growth over the next 23 years. The challenge: identifying improvements for how we move, whether by car, transit, bike or foot. The process: citizens will provide input at 16 community workshops throughout the six-county region. Maps and other planning tools will allow them to indicate preferences for transportation improvements. Several different plans will be developed based on community input. The public process will continue until the final MTP2035 is adopted in mid-2007. El Dorado County: El Dorado Hills Workshop FindingsCitizen planners at the March 16 community workshop in El Dorado Hills helped answer important questions: What distances are they traveling most?A majority of workshop participants wanted a transportation scenario supporting 3-10 mile trips for trips to work, school, shopping, entertainment and medical appointments. How do they prioritize their travel investments?
How can we support our travel options?
