Metropolitan Transprotation Improvement Program

Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program

As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region, SACOG prepares and maintains a federal Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP). The program includes a listing of all transportation-related projects requiring federal funding or other approval by the federal transportation agencies. The MTIP also lists non-federal, regionally significant projects for information and air quality modeling purposes.

Projects included in the MTIP are consistent with SACOG's Metropolitan Transportation Plan and are part of the area's overall strategy for providing mobility, congestion relief and reduction of transportation-related air pollution in support of efforts to attain federal air quality standards for the region.
