SACOG has initiated its first ever goods movement study. The study is being conducted under the eye of the GMAG and in coordination with our regional partners. The study will take place in three phases:
Phase 1: Conduct an assessment of current goods movement conditions in the region through data collection, analysis of existing reports, inventory of freight facilities, identification of trends and review of related activities.
Phase 2: Prepare a set of alternatives, including specific projects, activities and policies related to goods movement, which will be incorporated into the concurrent MTP scenario-building process.
Phase 3: Further refine the information from phase 2 into a preferred alternative for goods movement in the region and present it in the context of a regional goods movement action plan to help shape and direct regional goods movement activities in the future.
