Bicycle & Pedestrian Planning

SACOG serves as a forum for bicycle and pedestrian planning activities throughout the region. Staff makes its expertise available to partner organizations and groups to support their bicycle and pedestrian planning efforts.

The SACOG Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee meets quarterly and functions as an advisory committee to the SACOG Board of Directors. Click here to receive free e-mail notifications of posted Committee agendas.

Issues in 2008 and 2009 include:

• Adopting the Regional Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Master Plan
• Integrating the Master Plan with the Metropolitan Transportation Plan for 2035
• Awarding funding to projects through the Regional Bicycle & Pedestrian Funding Program
• Creating a regional map of existing bicycle facilities for print and distribution to the public
• Planning and Coordination of the Sacramento Regional Bicycle Commute Month
